Fall Foliage

I have always loved Autumn!  There is such a magical feeling in the season, with all of it's beautifully colored leaves.  This is a photograph that I took last Fall and I had to share!  Not only does it represent to me a passageway from one season into another, but it also shows an interesting perspective.  I am just crazy about the bright, seasonal hues and how the contrast of the dark, rusty railings stand out against those bright yellow background trees!

I really do treasure walking in the woods this time of year.  The rustling of leaves as they fall from the trees is so peaceful.  I could get lost in it all, drinking in everything in through all of my senses... Ahh, yes, but choosing to walk in a park instead might be a smarter choice during hunting season!

Isn't the view gorgeous!  This photo was taken standing on the bridge, looking out over the creek.  I was able to "catch" a lot more color in this one.  God paints such beautiful scenes for us to enjoy!  And I hope you enjoyed how I "captured" these moments of Autumn's majestic beauty.

K-LOVE - Laura Story "Blessings" LIVE

My soul was uplifted by this (thank you, K-Love)...

"Blessed is the man who perseveres under trial, because when he has stood the test he will receive the crown of life, that God has promised  to those who (truly) love him."  - James 1:12

I don't own this song, no copyright infringement intended. "Blessings" sung by Laura Story

"We pray for blessings, we pray for peace
Comfort for family, protection while we sleep
We pray for healing, for prosperity
We pray for Your mighty hand to ease our suffering
And all the while, You hear each spoken need
Yet love us way too much to give us lesser things

'Cause what if your blessings come through rain drops
What if Your healing comes through tears
What if a thousand sleepless nights are what it takes to know You're near
What if trials of this life are Your mercies in disguise

We pray for wisdom, Your voice to hear
We cry in anger when we cannot feel You near
We doubt your goodness, we doubt your love
As if every promise from Your word is not enough
And all the while, You hear each desperate plea
And long that we'd have faith to believe

'Cause what if your blessings come through rain drops
What if Your healing comes through tears
What if a thousand sleepless nights are what it takes to know You're near
What if trials of this life are Your mercies in disguise

When friends betray us
When darkness seems to win
We know that pain reminds this heart
That this is not,
This is not our home
It's not our home

'Cause what if your blessings come through rain drops
What if Your healing comes through tears
What if a thousand sleepless nights are what it takes to know You're near

What if my greatest disappointments or the aching of this life
Is the revealing of a greater thirst this world can't satisfy
What if trials of this life
The rain, the storms, the hardest nights
Are your mercies in disguise"

I'm feeling a bit poetic today:

A red sky at night, is sailor's delight!
Red sky in the morning, sailor take warning!

So, be cheerful and keep your heart light!
Because I didn't take that photo in the morning!

Then daybreak brought these lovelies...

Give me odorous at sunrise a garden of beautiful flowers where I can walk undisturbed.

Summer Jewelry Creations

Well, I'm still on a jewelry making roll here lately!  Just a couple (or maybe a few) more pieces... and then it will be time to work with some fabrics.  I seriously think that my sewing machine is feeling just a bit neglected!  It is crazy how many things I would like to pursue in the craft world.  My husband actually enjoys going with me to hobby and crafts stores.  Last time we went, I had picked up a book about another "new-to-me" crafting technique.  Gently enough and with that all-knowing smirk... he said, "slow down, Lisa, you have too many new projects to try at home as it is."  Yes, yes... that is so very true!

Summer's finally here!  I decided to make sweet summer themed pieces.

The 1st is a Colorful sea life necklace & charm bracelet set in beachy blue & green hues.

The 2nd, a chunky silver daisy pendant anchored on a light blue, glass beaded lariat.

I'm venturing outside my box on the next ones, but it makes life fun!

1.) A chunky, ornate copper cross pendant necklace with pearls and rich amber toned gemstones.
2.) Trendy, gold chain stacked bracelets with alternating neutral beads and gold ring accents.

Now, for ear bling!  Have to remind myself about earrings sometimes.

Up first:  Pretty little butterflies are just perfect for this time of year.  I truly adore butterflies and dragonflys!

Secondly: Dainty, monochromatic silver earrings.  I included a small leaf, a little flower and a teeny-tiny dragonfly, too!

Silverware jewelry is popular.  I gave it a try!  What do you think?

I've got to admit, the silverware pieces were hard work, but I love them so much!  I'm sure that I could not do many of them over a long period of time.  My hands were sore after making a batch, lol!  Still, so very worth it all in the end.

For now, I must bid you all farewell.  There is so much work to be done around here... However, I must first thank you for stopping by and visiting Bolt Mountain Quilts & Crafts blog today.  I really enjoy sharing my quilts, crafts, jewelry and a little bit about life here at the farm.  I hope you've enjoyed yourself, as well!  And maybe... just maybe, took the time to unwind a little from your busy life.

Handmade Jewelry

The love I have for handcrafting extends way beyond quilting.  I could not limit myself to only one category of handmade item.  Maybe, just maybe... I am a little ADD... because I always have my projects scattered around the craft room!  To be honest, there's constantly a variety of crafty stuff going on in the craft room... and in my brain.

One of those crafty things I love to make is Jewelry.  I just can not get enough of it!  So, today I am going to share some love (jewelry love, that is) with you. Let's start with some of my earliest pieces.  These washer necklaces were fun to make!  You can do so many different things with them.  The possibilities are quite endless, actually!

Next up is a necklace set with a little southwestern flair and lots of fun color!

Hope you like this next piece.  It's a hand-stamped plastic pendant with charm!

Sometimes I keep it simple.  Like this beautiful silver cross and pearl pendant...

Last but not least, a little something to celebrate spring!  After all of the snow we had this winter, it is nice to see so many colorful flowers blooming.  The prettiest little buttercups and violets have been peeping up through the green grass.  I really didn't want to mow them down, but the grass was getting out of control, lol!  Fortunately, we still have the rhododendrons, daisies and some purple irises.  I know the fresh flowers won't last forever; therefore, I couldn't help myself... I had to make something with silk flowers to match this lovely season!

Thank you for stopping by today and visiting my blog.  I enjoy sharing my quilts, crafts, jewelry and a little bit about my life here on the farm.  I hope you enjoyed your visit and maybe... just maybe, took the time to unwind a little from your busy life.
