My Very First Applique...

This was my 1st attempt using applique.
I know the colors & patterns are bold,
but I was trying to match my kitchen curtains.
What do you think?

Weekend Snow!

My daffodils were sad to see the snow...
But, it was actually quite beautiful!

A Quilt for my "Deer" Husband.

I decided to make my husband a quilt for Christmas one year.  It wasn't easy to hide it from him, so I decided to simplify things.

The trick:  Use fabric that's intended as pillow blocks and sew them all together with matching fabrics!  My little basenji, Bella, loves it "deerly."

A Quilt Made in Memory of my Aunt Patty...

Patricia Ramona's Flower Garden
This quilt is a special one.  My aunt Patty realized that I loved to sew.  She decided that I should have her sewing machine since my older one had stopped working.  She told me to take it and not to give it back to her.  She knew that I would take good care of it.  What she didn't know was that I would eventually make a quilted wall hanging in her memory on that machine.  Aunt Patty died of cancer after giving me the sewing machine.  It was originally breast cancer, that progressed into her spine and spread from there.  I loved her very much and wanted to honor her memory by sewing something special on her machine.  I made several items from the same pattern and fabric, naming them "Patricia Ramona's Flower Garden."

This was my very 1st quilt project.  It is a cathedral's window!  You can tell it is rough, but I was still very proud of it.  There will always be that "something special" about my very first quilt!
